Joseph Shiman III, CFP®

Managing Partner, Certified Financial Planner

Joe is fired up to bring only the best of himself to his clients. Known for his energy, patient listening, hearty laugh, leadership and love of all things finance, Joe realized his dream in January of 2019—successfully opening his own wealth management company. Captaining the direction and service experience for his clients is paramount to him. He collaborates with top-level professionals in the industry, pushing himself to thoughtfully consider new technology, products and services where it adds value to his clients lives.

Joe began his career at Tower Square Securities, Inc., the Broker Dealer for the Travelers which was later acquired by Citigroup in Hartford. He spent years mastering the foundation of the financial industries; becoming an invaluable resource to advisors. After training his team to succeed him, Joe knew the time had come to become a financial advisor and work directly with clients—a decision he hasn’t regretted for one day.

Joe spent the next 16 years leading the investment advisory efforts for an insurance and employee benefits agency in Avon, CT. During that time he gathered invaluable market experience, became an equity partner and key manager in the overall firm, and specifically lead, ran, and grew, the wealth management department. Over those years, it became apparent to him that his passion was for investment planning, embracing his need to pursue this concentration with the clients that had become very special to him.

Joe has served on the Board of the Avon and Simsbury Chamber of Commerce. He is a new member of the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce and is excited to meet the local business leaders around his new office. He led the Avon COC student job shadow program and plays and active role raising funds for hospice on the McLean Foundation Golf Committee. He has served as the president of Hop Meadow Country Club since 2016 and other leadership/board positions.

Joe is married to his wife of 18 years, Jennifer, and has three children in Simsbury schools.  He coaches a state championship girls soccer team, serves on the little league board of directors as a division manager and coach, and enjoys running, golf, and paddle tennis.  He and his family are active parishioners at St. Mary’s Church.
